I carried out this project together with Daphne de Vries in my first year of studying Spatial Design at Nimeto Utrecht.

Hotel de Gaaper is located in the heart of Amersfoort, at the market square. The perfect place for a nice weekend or business stay.

A ‘gaper’ is a stone or wooden head, often representing a Moor, on the front of a building in The Netherlands. It was used to indicate that this building was a pharmacy. Therefore, ‘Hotel de Gaaper’!

It’s an excellent hotel but there is one thing missing: a modern and timeless identity.

Out of 80 other students the client chose our design. An absolute honor!
